Summary
The Vidikovac hotel in Budva is a small private hotel. There are a dozen rooms, a small restaurant where breakfast is served and a wide terrace with a swimming pool. It has a homely feel. There is a car park at the front of the hotel. The hotel staff are friendly and many of them speak English or Russian.
Infrastructure
All the restaurants, beaches, cafes and shops in Budva are within walking distance. It is around 15 minutes to the nearest grocery store. Morgen, an old abandoned fortress is nearby. Getting to the Jaz beach is easy by taxi (€5-6 each way, which is about 4.5 km).
Location
The location is the main advantage of the hotel. It stands on a hill directly above the old city. The view from the balconies stunning. The photos do not adequately convey how lovely the sunset or sunrise is here.
The location can also be problematic, however. The road to the old city and the Budvan coast is on a steep slope. It is 20 to 30 minutes from the hotel to the sea, and the uphill return journey will test your endurance. For this reason, the hotel best suits people who have rented a car in Montenegro or bring their own car.
The word vidikovac means ‘a good view’ in Serbian.
