Pivnica Restaurant Cuisine
This restaurant is known in Budva for its Montenegrin and Italian cuisine. I would just recommend the Montenegrin cuisine, especially given this is a classic Montenegrin restaurant. The portions are large, the food tasty and the presentation good. If you prefer meat, just be aware, that the portions are really large. There is a good choice of wines and other alcohol but you better fish and desserts can be found in other restaurants.
This is considered to be at the high-end of Budvan restaurants. The prices are higher than average, but it is still reasonable. A detailed menu can be found at the restaurant’s website.
The Pivnica is owned by the director of the Montenegrin brewery in Nikšić. It produces the well known local brand of beer, Nik. The beer is quite good here, served bottled and on tap, even in ‘towers’ for groups of diners.
Interior
Pivnica has a rather unique and charming interior. Feast your eye on the details and enjoy the owner’s style and collection of fine objects. The tables are laid traditionally.The Pivnica has a main room which is open all year round and a private room for groups. In summer there is a terrace and a beach bar.
Service
The staff, from waiters to chefs and managers, are friendly and professional. However, the food does not arrive very quickly, so expect to wait 20-30 minutes for a main course. The food is freshly cooked, not microwaved and is worth the wait.
